Kalpa is your private second memory. Recording transcription happens on your device. We only send data to external AI providers when you explicitly enable AI Chat, and your data is never used to train their models.
Information we process
- Recordings & transcripts — audio you record and its on-device transcription.
- Notes, insights & topics — content generated from your recordings.
- Chat messages — the questions you ask and the content you choose to chat about.
- Account data — your sign-in identifier and basic profile.
External AI processing
When you enable AI Chat, the text of the recordings, insights and notes you choose to chat about — together with your questions — is sent to third-party AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic and Google) to generate a response on Kalpa's behalf. Your data is not used to train their models. Nothing is sent to external AI until you explicitly opt in, and you can revoke consent at any time in Settings, which immediately disables AI Chat.
These third-party providers are contractually required to protect your data to the same or an equal standard as described in this policy, to process it only to fulfil your request, and not to use it for their own purposes or to train their models.
How we use your data
- To provide transcription, summaries, insights and chat.
- To sync your content across your devices.
- To operate, secure and improve the app.
Data retention
Your content is retained while your account is active. You can delete recordings and your account from within the app, which removes the associated data from our systems.
Website analytics & cookies
On this website (not the app) we use Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful so we can improve them. It is loaded only after you accept on the consent banner, IP addresses are anonymized, and the data is never sold or used for advertising. If you decline — or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control / Do Not Track signal — no analytics cookies are set. You can change your choice any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.
Your rights
